Message from the Principal
Dear Redwood Families,
Welcome to Redwood, home of the Roadrunners! I'm Principal Mooney. I graduated from Oregon State University, married a GP grad, and am the proud mother of two GP grads. I have worked in the Grants Pass School District since 1997. I was a teacher for 19 years before I was a principal. Something fun to know about me is that I love dogs and travel, but I've never traveled with my dogs. Perhaps I will take them on one of my adventures someday!
At Redwood, we "Choose Kind". This has been our theme for several years; you feel it from the moment you walk through our doors.
Our school's mission statement says it all: The Redwood Family is dedicated to love, learning, and putting students first. We focus on students' social-emotional well-being so they are ready to engage in high-level learning in our classrooms. Our teachers go above and beyond to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
This year, we will continue to focus on increasing our academic scores, family workshops, and attendance, and we welcome your support and involvement. Communication and collaboration are key to a successful school year, and we encourage parents and community members to stay involved and engaged in our school.
Please check ParentSquare or our website regularly for updates and information on upcoming events and activities.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education of your children. We look forward to a great year of learning and growth at Redwood!
